Virtual Food Summit Series: Continuing Conversations
2026–2027 | Virtual
The Middlesex-London Food Policy Council is continuing the conversations that began at the 2025 Cultivating Resilient Food Summit with a new virtual series of presentations, workshops, and discussions throughout 2026–27.
The series will create more accessible opportunities to learn, share knowledge, and connect with others working to strengthen our local food system.
What to Expect
The series will take place over two time blocks:
Fall Programming: November/December 2026
3–4 presentations or workshops
Winter Programming: January/February 2027
3–4 presentations or workshops
The programming will explore a range of food system topics and approaches, with opportunities for learning, discussion, and collaboration.
Call for Presenters: Now Open
We’re currently inviting presenters and facilitators to contribute to the Virtual Food Summit Series. Presentations and workshops can share practical knowledge, research, community experience, tools, or examples of food system collaboration.
As part of this virtual series, we would also like to hold one or two reading groups focused on understanding food system policy, e.g. Canada’s new National Food Security Strategy. Our goal is to provide an interactive, educational experience that engages with and clarifies the policies that impact our food system and daily lives.
MLFPC will provide the virtual venue and event support, along with a modest honorarium for presenters and facilitators.

Have another food system topic or idea you’d like to share? We’d love to hear it! Please note, This form takes 20-30 minutes to complete and must be submitted in one sitting. - Food sovereignty
- Agri-processing
- Mapping food policy
- Food policy reading group
- Grassroots food distribution
- Importance of transportation (for overall food system or for food access)
- Developing a citizen toolkit (aimed at a general audience, promoting inclusion in food system change)
- Co-presentations from organizations working in collaboration (offering models for collaboration that other food system actors may replicate)
