What is the purpose of this event?
As the Middlesex London Food Policy Council, we are cultivating connections to our food system. We know that building food literacy skills is vital to making our region food secure. That’s why we are hosting an event to help you get to Know Your Food better!
Join us to learn how your food is grown and processed in Middlesex County. There will be opportunities for networking, panel discussions, and Q&As with agri-food experts. Speakers will include farmers, processors, food educators, community leaders, and more!
What does it cost to attend?
This event is entirely FREE thanks to the generous funding from the London Community Recovery Network (LCRN) grant!
The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed several wide-spread food system (or Agri Food?) issues in our urban and rural areas. In an effort to bounce back stronger than before, the City of London has provided organizations like MLFPC with funding to tackle some issues the pandemic has exposed.
MLFPC is working to create a long-term food strategy for our region. We believe that creating a food-secure community means ensuring everyone has access to information about how their food can be grown, prepared, and safely disposed of.
For more information on the London Community Recovery Network, please visit: https://getinvolved.london.ca/lcrn
Where can I find information about the speakers/panelists?
We will release information about each Speaker on our social media leading up to the event. Follow us at @MLFPC on Twitter and @middlesexlondonfpc on Facebook and Instagram to stay up-to-date!
Who are Exhibitors?
London and Middlesex County have more incredible food-focused organizations than we are able to feature as Speakers! That’s why we have invited charities and non-profits involved in agri-food and/or food literacy work to attend as Exhibitors.
Exhibitors will have space to set up an information booth in the event entrance. In between panel discussions, Attendees can visit Exhibitor booths to ask their burning food questions and learn about the vital work happening in our region. (During panel discussions, Exhibitors will join Attendees as audience members.)
Be sure to follow us on our social media to see which Exhibitors will be present!

What COVID-19 safety measures are in place?
We are committed to providing the most COVID-19 safe event as possible in accordance with provincial guidelines.
We will use a hybrid-delivery model. Attendees will have the option to attend online or in person.
For in-person attendees, masking is strongly encouraged. The event will take place in a conference room with capacity for 600 people, but we are capping attendance at 100.
What happens if another lockdown occurs?
Don’t worry, the show will go on! In the event of a COVID-19 lockdown, we will transition the event to be fully online.
Do I have to pay for lunch?
No! In-person attendees will receive lunch free of charge as part of the generous funding from the London Community Recovery Network Grant.
What is on the lunch menu? How can I ensure my dietary needs are met?
Lunch will be prepared by Growing Chefs! Ontario based on a menu from one of their school food programs.
Be sure to indicate your dietary needs on the eventbrite registration form. We will attempt to make whatever accommodations you need!
A more detailed menu will be available closer to the event date.
Will there be childcare?
We do not have the capacity to provide childcare. Parents are welcome to bring children 12 and older, however, parents must be responsible for supervising their children.
